I am an international transfer student. When will my NC State University I-20 be issued?

You will first need to have your Visa Certificate Form (VCF) and Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR) documents approved. These documents are available to you as a link in your decision letter after your department has recommended your admission. After approval and once your official transcripts have been received, your admissions will be processed to completion so that you are able to register for classes with your Unity ID.

For I-20 issuance, your enrollment intention will need to be indicated using the link in the decision letter and your current school will need to release your SEVIS record to NCSU. Once these steps are taken, your NCSU I-20 will be issued in 1-2 business days. Receipt of your official transcripts is not required to issue the NCSU I-20.

Please keep in mind that once your SEVIS record is transferred to NC State University, you will no longer have work authorization at your current university.
